You really need to learn hypnosis from a competent therapist, some suitable music from your therapist might help but it does take a bit of practice, it wont happen overnight. You need to experience hypnosis first then a slightly deeper level of trance with a therapist who should be able to show you how to use self hypnosis.
What is important though, is that if something is worrying you or keeping you awake at night you need to address this first and foremost. You might find my webapge on anxiety or stress useful : http://www.ripleyhypnotherapy.co.uk/anxiety-2.html

First think about slowing everything in your body down. Imagine your heart slowing, your breathing slowing, and your mind slowing. Take several deep breaths and focus your mind on only your body.
Next, start relaxing all your muscles. Think of them as taught elastic bands and imagine that you are releasing all the tension from each one. Start with your toes and work your way up to your face. Take your time with this step, at least 15 minutes.
Imagine that you are walking down a spiral staircase with exactly 100 steps. Count down from 100 hundred slowly while think about how your conscious mind is slipping down and relaxing.
Someone you know might be able to help you perfect your own technique, this is just a start. It works for me though. I usually fall asleep before I reach 80.
