and what is the relation between the two?
Attempting hypnosis, I once went into a state which is similar to dreaming in which my mind wanders rapidly without the guidance of my consciousness. I was wondering whether I was simply drifting off into sleep or whether I was actually in an effective state of hypnosis.
Surfing the web, I also discovered that many of the inductions for hypnosis are similar to those used for meditation and am wondering also how those differ as well.
i recently read an interesting ebook on this, http://freeundergroundhypnosis.tk/

Actually, hypnosis state is mean to alpha state…any thing is talking about brain wave..Beta, Alpha,Theta & Delta, when we go into trance state, so call hypnosis state, that mean our Alpha state are stronger than other brain wave..& when we sleep mean our Theta or Delta wave are more stronger, but one thing need to remember, in Theta or Delta state, our Alpha wave can in stronger position..
Alpha state is dream state, we have dream in this state, normally in Theta or Delta state, we don’t have dream already.
Ok, do you love day dream? that is hypnosis state. When you are in hypnosis state, you will feel very relax.
& in your experience, that is hypnosis state too.
